  • Create account with email and password
  • Verify your email address (check spam folder if needed)
Tip: Use a Strong Password

Your MedID account contains sensitive medical information. Use a password with at least 12 characters including letters, numbers, and symbols.

3

Activate Your Bracelet

  • Log in to your MedID account
  • Navigate to Dashboard → Bracelet → "Link New Bracelet"
  • Choose activation method:
    • -Option A: Scan QR code using your phone camera
    • -Option B: Tap phone to NFC chip (hold 1-2 seconds)
📱

Developer Note: Add animated GIF showing proper NFC scanning position for iPhone (top edge) and Android (back center)

NFC Scanning Tips by Device

iPhone: Hold phone's TOP EDGE (near camera) over the NFC symbol for 1-2 seconds. Android: Hold phone's BACK CENTER over the NFC symbol for 1-2 seconds. Ensure NFC is enabled: Settings → Connections → NFC

4

Create Your Medical Profile

  • Enter your basic information (name, date of birth, blood type)
  • Add allergies (especially severe/anaphylactic allergies)
  • List current medications with dosages
  • Add medical conditions (diabetes, epilepsy, heart conditions, etc.)
  • Set privacy preferences (see Privacy Settings section below)
IMPORTANT: Privacy & Access Settings

PIN Protection: Setting a PIN may delay first responders' access to your information in an emergency. We recommend using the 30-second timer option instead, which allows immediate access in critical situations while protecting privacy during non-emergencies.

5

Add Emergency Contacts

  • Add at least 2 emergency contacts (recommended: 3-4)
  • Include: Name, relationship, phone number, email
  • Set notification preferences:
    • -SMS text message (fastest)
    • -Phone call
    • -Email notification
  • Inform your contacts that they've been added to your emergency network
You're All Set!

Your MedID bracelet is now active and ready to protect you. Test the scanning function to ensure everything works correctly.
