1. What FirstAidTag IS

FirstAidTag is a digital medical information display and notification service:

A way to share pre-written medical information with first responders
A notification system to alert your contacts when your bracelet is scanned
A supplement to your existing emergency plan
A medical information storage and display platform

2. What FirstAidTag IS NOT

FirstAidTag is NOT:

NOT an emergency response service
NOT a substitute for 911
NOT a medical device (it's a general wellness product)
NOT a guarantee of help or rescue
NOT monitored 24/7 by medical professionals
NOT a fall detection or automatic alert system (V1.0)
NOT a medical alert monitoring service
NOT able to dispatch emergency services

3. Critical Limitations You Must Understand

WARNING - Read These Limitations Carefully:

1. First responders may not see or scan your bracelet

  • Your bracelet might be covered by clothing, jewelry, or bandages
  • In a chaotic emergency, responders may miss it entirely

2. QR codes may not scan in poor lighting or if damaged

  • Scratches, dirt, or wear can make codes unreadable
  • Low light conditions can prevent scanning

3. Alerts to your contacts may be delayed or not delivered

  • SMS messages can be delayed by minutes, hours, or fail entirely
  • Email and push notifications depend on working internet

4. You could be unconscious and alone with no one to scan your bracelet

  • FirstAidTag only works when someone physically scans it
  • If you're alone, no alert will be sent

5. Technology can fail at any time

  • Servers can go down
  • Networks can become unavailable
  • Software bugs can occur

6. Your emergency contacts may not respond

  • Contacts might have their phone off or be unavailable
  • They might not check messages immediately
  • They might not know how to respond appropriately

4. Your Responsibility

By using FirstAidTag, you accept that:

You maintain your own emergency plan separate from FirstAidTag

  • Have a medical alert bracelet from other providers if needed
  • Keep paper medical information cards
  • Inform family, friends, and neighbors about your conditions

You will call 911 in any medical emergency regardless of wearing FirstAidTag

  • Do not wait for FirstAidTag notifications
  • Do not assume FirstAidTag will handle the emergency

You keep your medical information current and accurate

  • Update immediately when medications change
  • Update when new conditions are diagnosed
  • Review quarterly to ensure accuracy

You inform emergency contacts about the alert system

  • Get their permission before adding them
  • Explain what alerts they'll receive
  • Ensure they know how to respond

You understand and accept the limitations above

  • You have read and understood every limitation listed
  • You accept the risks of using this technology
  • You will not hold FirstAidTag liable for failures

5. For First Responders & Medical Professionals

The information displayed by FirstAidTag:

Is provided by the user, not verified by medical professionals

  • Users may have outdated information
  • Information may be incomplete or inaccurate
  • Medical terminology may be incorrect

May be incomplete, inaccurate, or out-of-date

  • Users may forget to update their profiles
  • Users may not understand their conditions fully
  • Information could be months or years old

Should be confirmed through standard medical protocols

  • Verify allergies through standard medical history
  • Confirm medications with pharmacy records
  • Use professional judgment, not just FirstAidTag data

Does not create a patient-provider relationship with FirstAidTag

  • FirstAidTag is not a healthcare provider
  • We do not review or verify medical information
  • We are not liable for medical decisions

FirstAidTag is not liable for medical decisions based on displayed information.

6. No Medical Advice

FirstAidTag does NOT provide:

Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
Recommendations about medications or procedures
Assessment of your medical condition
Emergency medical guidance
Interpretation of symptoms

For all medical questions:

  • Contact your doctor or healthcare provider
  • Call 911 for emergencies
  • Visit urgent care for non-emergency medical needs

7. No Guarantees

We make NO guarantees that:

Your bracelet will be found or scanned
Alerts will be delivered successfully
Emergency contacts will respond
Information will be current or accurate
The system will work when needed
First responders will act on the information

FirstAidTag is provided “AS IS” with no warranty of any kind.

8. Limitation of Liability

FirstAidTag's liability is strictly limited:

Maximum Liability: The lesser of:

  • • Amount you paid in the last 12 months, OR
  • • $100

We are NOT liable for:

Medical emergencies or outcomes
Failed or delayed alerts
Inaccurate information you provided
First responder actions or inactions
Emergency contact actions or inactions
Death, injury, or property damage
Any consequential damages

This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Assumption of Risk

By using FirstAidTag, you voluntarily assume all risks including:

Risk that the system will not work when needed
Risk of delayed or failed notifications
Risk that first responders won't scan your bracelet
Risk of outdated or inaccurate information causing harm
Risk that emergency contacts won't respond appropriately
All other risks associated with relying on technology for emergency information

You acknowledge these risks and choose to use the Service anyway.

10. Independent Medical Care

FirstAidTag does not replace:

Regular medical care from your doctor
Emergency medical services (911)
Medical alert monitoring services
Professional medical advice
Prescription medications or treatments
Medical devices prescribed by your doctor

You must maintain all other medical care and safety measures.

11. Legal Acknowledgement

By purchasing or using FirstAidTag, you acknowledge:

You have read and understood this entire disclaimer
You understand FirstAidTag's role is limited to information display and notification
You accept that FirstAidTag is NOT an emergency response service
You agree to the liability limitations described herein
You will not rely solely on FirstAidTag for emergency response
You have an independent emergency plan
You accept all risks of using this Service

FirstAidTag's liability is limited as described in our Terms of Service.
